Steve Mainero
Steve Mainero is the author of seven books (two of which have won Children’s Book Awards).
He is a grandfather of eight children and an avid animal lover. Over the years, he has had multiple dogs, horses, cats, birds and gerbils. He believes strongly in the unspoken bonds created between animal and human. He has often said that the animal world has so much to teach humanity about love, caring and happiness.
As a writer, he believes strongly in using the power of the word to bring happiness to others — especially children. When he writes, he sees and feels the impact of each word upon the reader and delights in using just the right one to convey a scene or to bring a smile. He and his wife live in North Carolina.
